Initial soft limit check.

I have noticed that when running G-code that exceeds the soft limits the alarm isn't activated until during execution. I would like it to do a initial check when pressing Cycle Start. Or a warning like red thick lines on the left part of screen showing the soft limits. This would save me some half done parts.

sorry but all soft limit checks are only done when running part.

But Masso investigates the file and draws it on screen on load. Wouldn’t it be possible and reasonable easy to get the files maximum and minimum valurs in this stage and draw the soft limits on screen?

I was having the same problem that MASSO was throwing a soft limit alarm just before the part was finished but I couldn't work out what was causing the alarm until Peter & I finally figured out that it was the homing command at the end of the file that was moving the spindle outside of the soft limits. But the point of failure (throwing alarm) was some twenty lines before the homing command.

Having the F2 screen draw the soft limits, even scaling the F2 screen, would have shown up that moving to the homing position was outside the soft limits.

@jolbas yes that could be done, the main problem is that we have been adding a lot features for a few machine manufacturers and have used all the memory available on the units.

Ah. You have to find a way to save memory for every new feature. Thats a lot harder. I can see that.

As someone else suggested, you can get rid of the F5 screen 🙂

And I would also get rid of the axis setup calculating help and wizard in favour for online calculation help in the documentation. Just keep pulses per unit.
